Sabbath Day Adventures

There was a big coordinating council meeting for all the stakes in our mission and all of the stakes in the west mission today.  It was at the Satellite building in our mission at 10am.  So we went to church at that building at 9am and so did Broc and Lori Hiatt, the mission leaders from the west mission.  After sacrament meeting, Kirt and Broc went to their meeting (which ended up being a 4.5 hour long meeting, and the power and a/c were out for part of it) and Lori and I went to a baptism in my mission in the building we were in.  Then Lori and I went to a baptism in her mission.  Then I dropped Lori off at the Panorama (the building we both live in), and I went to our mission office. Kirt thought for sure he would be done by 2, so we had arranged to be at the office at 2 to meet some members of the La Lima Stake, the Canalas family, who offered to bring us lunch.  So I visited with them while I sat and ate the lunch they brought us. Kirt came right at the end.  They Canalas family left and we worked a little more on transfers and planning our Night of Miracles broadcast for tonight.  We started a new tradition in the mission, every 4th Sunday, we are going to do a Zoom meeting at 9pm for all the missionaries, their parents, and any members of our mission that want to join.  We are going to talk about the miracles that have been happening in the mission.  Tonight was our first one.  We also had our missionaries that are returning home this week share their testimonies on Zoom before the Night of Miracles fireside. Then after that, we had to call all the missionaries that are getting a new leadership or training assignment for transfers next week and ask them if they were willing to accept the new assignment.  It was a long but productive day.

In the elevator on the way to church

We saw this truck driving when we were on the way to church.  We were pretty sure that they were going to church somewhere. (Later I actually saw the truck at the church in the west mission where I went to the baptism with Hermana Hiatt).
