Interviews and Lunch with Office Elders

Because of the short transfer (we have a 5 week transfer this time because of the mission leader seminar is happening the week of our normal transfers), we did some interviews before the zone conferences started.  We did interviews with El Carmen and the 16th, had our office meeting at the house and then went to Chiles for lunch with the office Elders on the 17th, then had interviews with Satelite on the 18th.

Clockwise: Elders Da Cuhna, Nicoll (he fell asleep during lunch), Pres, Me, Baer, Williams, Wolff, Nova, Ortega

P-Day with Luisiana District

We invited the Luisana District to come to the house for p-day. We went and played paddle, played Hitster (a fun music game), and went to lunch at Chile's. It was fun to visit with them!

Hermana Garcia Drawing

Hermana Garcia drew this for me. She loves to draw. I asked her a while back if she had draw a picture of Jesus and she said she had not. So she decided to draw one for me. She left it on my desk when she left for home last Wednesday, but I just found it today because we hadn't been to the office until today. She is so talented.

Church in Negrito and Rabies Vaccines

We went to church in El Negrito today. It is a group in the Palermo Stake. It's about 2 hours from our house. We chose it because we needed to give Elder Chuni a rabies vaccine. But it was cool to go and see the group. It was crazy though. It was on the porch of some members. The members didn't come until about half way through the meeting. They were upstairs just talking so loudly at the start. Plus there was someone repairing a motorcycle and they kept reving the engine, plus tons of chickens, and normal traffic noise, and the fiesta nearby playing loud music. Church is just very different in some places of the world:)

Elder Chuni and Elder Brown

Elder Chuni getting his rabies shot. When missionaries get bit by dogs, which they do frequently in Honduras, they need a booster for their rabies vaccine. And since rabies is 100% fatal if you get it, we just give it if they don't know the vaccination status of the dog that bit them.

We also stopped on the way home to give Elder Cook his rabies shot

New Missionary Training and Companion Assignment

We did some training this morning with our new missionaries, they were assigned their new comps, we fed them lunch, and then they left to go to their new areas! Wow it is a lot of work to receive 23 new missionaries.
