Trip to Tela

Monday morning we got up and drove to Tela.  We went to a beach called Miami Beach. It down a long narrow road and the beach was on one side and a lake was on the other side.  There was no one on the beach. We had it all to ourselves.  We swam, rested, read, and enjoyed the sun. After the beach we went and checked into our AirBNB.  Not my favorite AirBNB.  I think I'm getting a little too old and spoiled.  It was pretty primitive.  It didn't have any hot water.  At least it had A/C.  Then we went to a restaurant called Max Burger in Tela for dinner. After we watched the new (1994 which is not so new anymore) Miracle on 34th Street movie.

Snuggling with Katie and Kyden

Tuesday we went back to Miami Beach and took a little boat out on the ocean to Parque Nacional Jeannette Kawas.  We rode all the way out to the point and then came back to Playa De Cocalito.  We spent the morning on the beach.  It was supposed to have some good snorkeling, but it was raining and the water was really murky.  The rain stopped and we enjoyed the sun and swimming.  We rode the boat back to Miami Beach.  Then we had a late lunch at Mr. Taco.  Then we went to the beach right in Tela and walked on the boardwalk. We went back to the house and rested and watched a movie.  Then we went to McDonald's for shakes and fries for dinner.  Very healthy.

McDonald's!

Wednesday morning we got up and took the missionaries in Tela to breakfast at Cafe Del Mar Bakery Shop.

After we drove back to San Pedro. We did final preparations for Christmas. Katie, Kyden, and I brought our mattresses out to the front room and slept under the tree.  At midnight, there were so many fireworks that it woke us up.  I'm glad it did because the fireworks were crazy.  I have never seen so many fireworks in my life.

Insane amount of fireworks. Not quite a cool as the show in St Maries on Labor Day because it wasn't as close but it was crazy the sheer amount of fireworks that were going off.  There were so many that by the end of the "show" you couldn't even really see the fireworks because the sky was so hazy.
