All of the stake presidents, mission presidents, and temple presidents from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Panama gathered in Guatemala City to have a meeting with Elder Gong (they wouldn't let the Nicaraguans in to Guatemala for some reason). We flew there on Saturday morning. We had lunch when we got there and then had the rest of Saturday afternoon free. Kirt and I went to Cuidad Cayala. It is a new modern area of Guatemala that has beautiful shops and residential living. Then we went to the Guatemala City temple. Two fun small world stories. We saw a girl there holding a Chile flag that we guessed was going on a mission to Chile. We asked her where she was going and she is going to Garret's mission. Then a stake president from Guatemala came up to us. He is the stake president of Elder Chuni in our mission. He actually grew up in Honduras. After the temple we went to PF Changs with the Galans and the Youngs (both mission leaders in El Salvador). Sunday morning the men all had a 5 hour meeting from 7am-noon with Elder Gong. The women took a bus to a local ward. After lunch, all of the mission leaders had a meeting with Elder Gong. He is such a kind and friendly man. He shook all of our hands and just has a such a genuine personality. After the meeting, Kirt and I hung out in the hotel room working on missionary tasks and finishing transfers. We made all the calls for the missionaries getting new assignments. Then we had our night of testimonies for our missionaries going home. We had to get up at 2:30am on Monday morning to fly back to Honduras.
