The Kimball family, Trent and Courtney. Quick introduction. They moved to Honduras from San Antonio Texas in 2017. They lived here at the Panorama until 2020. They went back to San Antonio when Covid started. They came down to expand their business here. They were only planning on staying a year, but Trent was called as bishop in their ward so they stayed longer. They brought 6 of their 8 children with them when they came. While they were here, Courtney started a charity called One Common Thread. She was helping a YW in their ward who lives in the Bordo right outside the Panorama to earn some money to go on the youth temple trip. The YW came to the house and did some sewing for her for 3 hours and Courtney paid her $20. The YW's mom approached Courtney later and asked her if she could sew for her because her husband only earns $30 a month. And from this idea grew the charity. There are about 100 women that live in the Bordo sewing quilts. We went to the Bordo in Progreso with the Kimballs. The elders in Progreso met us there. The family in Progreso are members of the church in varying degrees. We visited with them, had lunch, and had a lesson with the Elders. The quilts they make are absolutely beautiful.
