Today for the seminar we got up at 3:30am and flew to Flores Guatemala. We took a bus for about and hour and half and drove to the ruins at Tikal. We got to have a guided tour of the ruins in the morning. Then we took the bus to a restaurant for lunch and then on to the Island of Flores. We took a boat tour in the lake around the island. Then we took the bus back to the airport and flew back to Guatemala City. When we got to the city, we took another bus to Antigua Guatemala. We stayed at a really cool hotel that used to be a monastery in Antigua for the rest of the seminar.
Ceiba tree-It is the national tree of Guatemala and it is illegal to cut them down for any reason.
