We had the 2nd part of the mission tour today with the 3 zones in La Ceiba. It was another really good zone conference. We did the same thing after the conference. Lunch, Elder Olsen did interviews during lunch, then MLC with the ZL's from the 3 zones and the 1 companionship of Hermana Leaders. That evening Kirt and I got to go dinner with Elder and Sister Olsen. It was such a blessing. It is so nice to visit with other adults! And even better, other adults that know exactly what you are going through. They were mission leaders in Uruguay from 2016-2019.
Elder and sister Olsen greeted every missionary personally and asked about where they were from and their families. It was very touching.
Another cool story of the day. Some back story. Elder Milla had posted the following in the mission group chat. (We encourage missionaries to share what they learned from their scripture studying each day.)
Elder Milla's post, "Today in my personal studies I read a little about Helaman and his 2000 sons! I really liked seeing how the mothers of these noble young men helped them from their youth to fully trust in the Lord, while reading I remembered many things that my own mother taught me since I was little, one of my notes was the following: "Why pray for huge miracles or for angels to descend from heaven, when I have an angel that I call MOM?", I invite you Elders and Sisters to make a small list of some things or principles that your mothers taught you and I promise you that you will feel very grateful to Our Heavenly Father when you see all those things that our mothers have taught us and the effort they made to raise us and show us the way to follow, and just as Nephi exclaim "I was born of good parents"! I love you ALL!"
It was very sweet, so I copied it and sent it to his mom on Facebook messenger. She replied back "I am grateful for the children Heavenly Father gave me to care for in this world. They are a blessing to my life. Thank you for sharing these thoughts. I have some news to share: we will be sealed as a family a week after Elder Milla comes home. It's the covenant we've been waiting for the most, and it's finally here, ready for my family. It's a miracle from Elder Milla's mission."
I talked to Elder Milla about this Tuesday in the temple, and he was so excited. His dad had been married before and they had been waiting on the cancelation of his sealing, and they had recently received it so they could be sealed when he returns from his mission. I told him to tell Elder Olsen this story when we were at dinner on Wednesday night. Thursday at the end of the zone conference, Elder Olsen was talking to Elder Milla and he volunteered to come and seal Elder Milla and his family. It was so sweet. Now I need to figure out a way to be there.
