Leader P-Day and MLC

The ZL's and HL's came to the house for p-day. I fed them the cinnamon rolls, egg casserole, smoothies, and banana bread that I slaved all weekend to make. We played soccer, basketball, tennis, pickle ball.

Elders Berg, Douglass, Fernandez, Williams, Gornechec, Axtell, Zaldivar, Coleman, and Quej. They all came to the mission together.  It's weird though because the MTC does not count as a transfer for the Latins because they are only in their for 3 weeks, but it does for the ones that are in there for 6 weeks. So they won't all go home together.  

We had a good MLC talking about how we can improve as leaders.

 

October 2026 General Conference

Saturday I spent all day cooking. I made brownies, cookies, and cinnamon rolls, and egg casseroles. I was super tired by the end of the day, but it kept me awake listening to conference. 

The office elders and AP's came over Sunday for the 2nd session. We had waffles, bacon, eggs, and banana bread after conference. 

Some listened in English in the living room, and some listened in the back TV room in Spanish.

Multizone Conference in La Paz

Monday when we got back from Roatan, we went right to the office. Kirt stayed at the office and worked, and I went to the soccer field and visited with missionaries.  Then I went and got Kirt and we had lunch at Tokens with the missionaries. We sat with Elders Baer, Santana, Conde, and Pizarro. Then we went back to the church. Kirt started with interviews. I tried to play a game with missionaries, but then I got interuppted by triage.  After I got Elder Gonzalez and his sprained ankle settled, I went in the Family History room and painted with the hermanas. We cleaned the church and set up for zone conference while Pres finished the interviews. We finally made it home about 9pm that night. We got up and went back to the church for zone conference. We had a great zone conference. We had to do more flu shots.  We did interviews Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after zone conference.

Hermana Cristales and Elder Nova. Hermana Cristales is the sister that provides us with all our shots. She is from Guatemala and she is in the same ward as Elder Nova.

Roatan

We went to Roatan this weekend to form a 3rd branch there. It is called the Sandy Bay branch. Kirt's councilors and their wives went with us too. The Medina's brought their daughter too. We flew over Friday afternoon. We checked into our hotel. We stayed at Herbert's hotel (a member of the Roatan branch) and used his cars. He picked us up from the airport. Then we went to the church. There was an activity about marriage for all the adults on the island. The Zavala's planned it. They failed to tell me that I needed to share something about marriage so I just did it in English and Kirt translated for me. After the meeting, they had Karaoke. They sang for hours. They kept trying to pressure Kirt and I to do it.  I don't think they understand that in the US you have to be super drunk to do Karaoke. We finally left about 10:30pm and they were still going strong. Saturday we got up and went to the beach at the Banana Rama Hotel. We just stood in the water and visited. Then we had lunch. The owner of the Banana Rama came and visited with us. His name is Luis St Louis. He is a member of the church.  He lives in southern Idaho. After the beach, we went back to the hotel. Kirt went to the church and did a bunch of interviews, called a new branch president and Elders Quorum president, and did a missionary setting apart.  Then he went to the missionary open house of the Cruz's daughter who is leaving on her mission tomorrow. I stayed at the hotel the whole time and worked on medical stuff for 5 hours. Sunday we went to church.  The Sandy Bay branch was created. After church we went to a baptism. Then we went and visited with Sloan and Amy Jorgensen, the mission dentists who have a house on Roatan. After that, we had an FHE in Punta Gorda, a new area in Roatan that we are trying to start a group in. Elder Paul and Elder Calderon are the missionaries in this area. We took them back to their area after. Monday, we got up and flew back to San Pedro.
