Roatan Trip with Jarom Jorgensen and His Family

We went back to Roatan because one of our former missionaries and trek son Jarom Jorgensen was visiting with his family. They have a house on Roatan. They were nice enough to invite to come over and stay with them. It was a little crazy because it was Jarom, his dad Dan, his dad's brother, and about 15 cousins, but I'm super glad we went because it was so good to visit with Jarom and Dan. We arrived Saturday evening and hung out in the pool and visited. Sunday we went to church in Los Fuertes. Then we had a lunch with Jarom's family and the families that help to do the upkeep on their house in Roatan. Kirt, Jarom, and Dan went and visited with the Branch president and his family Sunday evening while I took a nap. Monday, we took the 8 missionaries on the island to breakfast before flying home.

Lunch with Former Elder Halls Now Steve and His Family

Steve and his family came back to Honduras to visit. We got to go to lunch with them in Progreso. It was so fun to meet his family. They are such nice people.  Small world story, they are good friends with our friends Sue and Scott Flake. Another small world story, their daughter in law served with our friend Camille Clark in the Tegucigalpa Mission.

August 2026 MLC

We had our MLC council today. It was excellent. We have a bunch of new ZL's so we did some training on how to be effective ZL's, how to resolve problems, how to communicate, and how importance obedience is. Elder Williams, one of our AP's gave a amazing presentation on how important obedience is.  I talked about D&C 121 and how important it is to not be prideful or exercise dominance as a leader and to correct quickly, clearly and with a lot of love. President talked about baptisms.  We set a very high baptismal goal of 200. We told our leaders if they wanted to set the goal that high, that they needed to commit to getting 4-5 baptisms themselves because we want 30% of our baptisms to come from our leaders. We are also going to do a mission fast from things that our preventing us from being more obedient.  Our MLC meeting is one of our favorite days.
