Today is transfer day. The AP's got up a 4 and got on a bus and rode around in it meeting all of the missionaries and transferring them to their new areas. The missionaries all get up really early that are in the far away zones, and take a bus to the bus station in Progresso. Then the transfer bus picks them up in Progresso takes them to their new areas. The missionaries that are going home, take another bus to the airport to fly home. Then later in the day, another bus goes multiple times to pick up the new missionaries that are going to the mission. We had 7 new missionaries come today. They come to the office, get their pictures taken, get immigration and passport tasks done, sneak in a short nap on the chapel pews while watching the restoration video, get some training from the Hermana leaders and the office elders, play a few games, and have dinner. Then they all stay with the AP's or Hermana leaders overnight. It's a very long day. I think that I had the most questions though. We have never done transfers before so I had a lot of questions about how things are done. I think the new missionaries are going to write their parents that the mission Hermana leader is clueless. They wouldn't be wrong at this point, but I'm learning quickly.
The first group of missionaries came in from the Mexico City MTC.
Hermana Griffiths from South Jordan, UT
Elder Gingras from Orem, UT
Elder Hansen from Boise, ID
Elder Centeno from Mexico
The 2nd group arriving were from the Peru MTC
The 3rd group was just one Elder from the Provo MTC
Elder Wood from Canada
Elder Lopez Véliz from Guatemala
Elder Murillo from Boliva
Lots of training. I'm not sure how much they will remember because they were very tired and overwhelmed.
