P-Day with El Carman

El Carmen set a goal to get 40 people to church on Sunday (yesterday) as a Zone. They reached their goal  so they got to come have P-day at the house.  We played outside, had lunch, and they played group games.

Beautiful sunrise this morning

Stake Conference in Palermo Stake

Palermo Stake had 2 sessions of stake conference. One at 9am in Progresso with the wards closest to Progresso.  We had a lunch with the stake presidency at the first session.  Then we all drove to Santa Rita and had a 2nd session at 2pm there.  We got to see the missionaries from the Palermo Zone and the Santa Rita Zone at the conferences.

Future Missionary Convention

All of the stakes in the West and East San Pedro Sula missions had a future missionary convention this weekend.  Any youth that is planning on going on a mission in the next year or so gathered together to prepare for their missions.  There were lessons and classes of preparing for missionary service.  Plus there were dentists and doctors there for exams.  They all went to the temple.  Some did baptisms and some received their endowment.  The goal was to help the youth get everything ready so all they needed to do was meet with their bishop and stake president and then they could submit their missionary papers.  President gave a 45 minute presentation about how to prepare to be a missionary.  He also got to give an impromptu talk in the opening session.

We finally got to see Shane Skidmore, a missionary from our ward and family friend, that is serving in the West mission.

Our AP's came and helped Kirt with his presentation.  The missionaries from the west mission were helping with the convention since it was held in their zone.

This is Elder Milla's very first baptism, Josue, from Yoro. He just turned 18 and is preparing to go on a mission. He also just received the Melchidecek Priesthood and is the 2nd counselor in his branch in Yoro.

Office Dinner

Dinner with the office Elders to thank them for their hard work after transfers. They do an amazing job with all the details that it takes to make sure that transfers go off without a hitch. (The guy in the back was super helpful too😂). We went to Mr. Taco in Progresso. Very yummy tacos!

MLC

The temple is back open (it was closed for cleaning the past 2 weeks) so we got to go today with the MLC.  It was wonderful to be in the temple!

Then we had our MLC.  I have to admit it was very long (over 3 hours) and no one translated for me (as much my fault as theirs) so I was a little grouchy by the time it was over. And I'm not exactly sure what was accomplished.  I know we took they took an hour to decide on the monthly goal for baptisms.

Here is the recap from the AP's:

• Clean house snapshots at Weekly Planning on Mondays
• Have around 20 people teaching so we can make specific plans for each of them (stop teaching those that aren't progressing and be finding new people constantly)
• Teach by finding and find by teaching
• Take 5 minutes of P-Day to do a technology inventory in each companionship
• You can tell your Zones that we have a new record as a Mission! 126 baptisms
• Baptism goal for September-150💙
